Summer is already here and the last few days have been a good taste of summer since the weather was really hot! Let’s leave our imagination fly and get inspired by the tropical climate of our island…

So… when we say tropical, our mind travels to tropical destinations where there is colour everywhere, there is green scenery and a lot of patterns.  Well, let’s say that we want to transform our garden or terrace, for those who live in a flat…

How can we make our place look like the tropical destination we have in mind?

Today, I am going to show a technique, a very simple one, with which you can create a professional painting pallet as if it was made by a professional.

Pick a fabric with patterns that you really love and a colour fan deck.  Pick out the strips of the colours that you can also see on your chosen fabric.  Pick out ALL the colours!  This way, you can easily and quickly create a pallete which seems that it was made by someone who has designed the fabric, someone who certainly knows about colours, their combinations and decoration.

Then, choose the surfaces that you want to paint with these colours.  It may be a wall, a piece of furniture with little flower pots on it or even an old chair that you want to restore.

After painting with the colours you have chosen, you can add a few more details like vases, decorative glass bottles, flowers or other plants, always, with colours from your original pallete.

Don’t forget to make two cushions using the same fabric and some more with colours in slightly lighter or darker shades.

Have a nice summer and good luck with your new decoration adventures in your outdoor space!
